Carol Drummond - Founder, Managing Director of Inner Solutions Limited and Partner
With over 40 years of experience in healthcare, Carol brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, strategic leadership, and operational insight. Beginning her career as a nurse and qualifying as a midwife, she has consistently focused on improving and transforming services across hospital, community, and system levels.
Throughout her career, Carol has held several senior leadership roles, including Director of Midwifery and Divisional Director for Women’s and Children’s Services. Her work spans both the UK and the Middle East, where she served as Executive Director of Clinical and Operational Activation for a major new hospital build. In this role, she led the strategic project management team, coordinating clinical and operational readiness activities to enable the successful launch of a complex, high-profile healthcare facility.
At a national level, Carol has led the development of strategic guidance and frameworks to support healthcare transformation, particularly in the context of new hospital programmes.
Her work has included the design of target operating models to ensure alignment with long-term service strategies and to embed innovation and transformation at the core of future healthcare delivery.
As a consultant, Carol supports a wide range of healthcare organisations with service reviews, transformation initiatives, and performance improvement projects. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and she integrates this methodology into her approach to quality improvement. She brings a rigorous, data-driven focus to analysing service performance, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing sustainable improvements. Her expertise enables organisations to streamline processes, enhance outcomes, and reduce variation in care.

Andrew Drummond - Managing Director of Inner Solutions Limited and Partner
With over three decades of experience in quality improvement, project delivery, and operational excellence, Andrew is the Managing Director & Partner at Inner Solutions Management Consultancy. He offers expert consultancy to support organisations aiming to enhance performance through practical, proven, and sustainable methods.
Andrew has specialised in developing and implementing structured quality improvement processes that strengthen organisational capability, enhance customer satisfaction, and deliver consistent results. His expertise includes creating quality management frameworks aligned with international best practices, helping businesses meet regulatory requirements and evolving customer expectations.
He has led complex project management initiatives across global operations, aligning people, processes, and technology to achieve objectives. Andrew is adept at managing change in challenging environments, overseeing projects from concept to delivery, and ensuring long-term performance through structured governance and clear metrics.
A major focus of his work has been the design and delivery of robust audit systems—both internal and external—to identify risks, drive improvement, and ensure compliance with quality, operational, and strategic goals. These systems have supported initiatives in the UK and Europe and have been successfully applied in global settings, including India, China, Mexico, and Brazil.
Beyond technical delivery, Andrew has provided hands-on coaching and onsite support to build local capability and embed sustainable improvement cultures. He has led training programmes in quality management best practices, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and effective project delivery frameworks.
Today, Andrew draws on this experience to help organisations improve efficiency, strengthen governance, and achieve successful outcomes through tailored consultancy in quality improvement, audit, and project management.


Dr Rachel Nash - Associate
Dr Nash is an experienced life sciences consultant with a proven track record of delivering strategic insights and operational solutions to pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Her therapeutic focus spans neurology, ophthalmology, oncology, immunology and rare diseases, with project expertise across market landscape assessments and product planning to competitive intelligence and medical conference strategy.

She has led global, cross-functional teams and worked closely with stakeholders across all levels, from insight leads to executive leadership, to shape evidence-based decision-making. Rachel’s work has consistently driven value across high-impact projects by blending scientific depth with commercial awareness.

With a PhD in Immunology, Rachel brings a strong academic foundation to her consulting practice. She combines structured problem-solving, research-driven strategy, and stakeholder engagement to deliver tailored, actionable recommendations that support business growth and innovation across the life sciences sector.
